The Obligation of Using IDR in Republic of Indonesia's Territory

In relation to the introduction of Bank Indonesia Regulation No.17/3/PBI/2015 dated 31 March 2015 concerning The Obligation of Using IDR in Republic of Indonesia’s Territory and Bank Indonesia Circular Letter No.17/11/DKSP dated 1 June 2015 regarding The Obligation of Using IDR in Republic of Indonesia’s Territory, therefore:

1. Each party, either an individual or corporation, must use Rupiah for all cash or non cash transactions conducted in Republic of Indonesia’s Territory (NKRI)

2. The obligation to use Rupiah in non-cash transactions will be effective from 1 July 2015, while for others are effective from 31 March 2015.

3. Any violation of the above laws and regulations may be subject to criminal sanction or fines in accordance with applicable regulations.
