Bank of China BOCNET Safety Instruction

Dear BOCNET customers, Bank of China is committed to providing you with a high-quality and safe internet banking services. To ensure that your account funds are more secure and online transactions are more reliable, please pay attention to the following points when you use BOCNET services:

Log In to The Correct Website

  • When visiting the Bank of China website, please directly enter the website address to log in: www.bankofchina.co.id
  • There is a link to log in to International Internet Banking (Personal/Corporate) in the upper right corner of the webpage. After logging in to the real BOCNET, you will see your reserved welcome message.
  • Please be careful to identify the fake website. If you have any doubt, please contact the nearest branch.

Protect Your Username and Password

Under any circumstances, Bank of China will never ask your password. Please do not share your password with others (including bank staff or police), and do not easily believe in any illegal behavior of hacking your username and password. Criminals may ask for your username and password through e-mail, letter, telephone, or SMS. If you have any doubt, please contact the nearest branch.

  • Avoid using easy-to-guess numbers or letter combinations for the password, such as your date of birth, phone number, car number, etc. It is recommended to use a password with a combination of numbers and letters (upper and lower case) that cannot be guessed easily.
  • The customer should avoid using the same password to log in to other websites, for example, as those used for social media or e-mail.
  • It is recommended to change your internet banking password regularly.
  • Please do not write your username and password on paper or cards. Do not tell anyone your username and password or accept the advice of strangers when using it.
  • Do not provide personal information (such as ID or passport data, address or bank account, etc.) to anyone who fails to verify his identity or to any suspicious website.
  • Please keep your E-Token and other verification tools properly. If you lose it accidentally, please immediately contact the nearest branch to go through relevant procedures for reporting the loss and other administrative process.

Things to Notice When Operating Internet Banking

  • Do not access internet banking in public places (such as internet cafes, public libraries, etc.) to prevent these computers from being equipped with malicious monitoring programs or being spied by others.
  • Please carefully check whether the "Log In Information" on the welcome page matches your actual log in status, so that you can find the abnormal situation in time, to avoid being confused or cheated by fraudulent e-mails or websites.
  • Make sure to log in to the correct Bank of China internet banking by checking the site certificate. You can use the IE browser menu "Tools" >> "Options" >> " Content" >> "Certificate" to check the validity of the BOC certificate.
  • If you access it from the favorites folder on your browser, make sure the saved website address is correct.
  • Methods to identify the fake website: A fake e-mail or website will have different methods to make the relevant e-mail or website appear to be authentic, including:
    • Using the same images as the original website;
    • Redirecting you to the real website, without knowing that the personal data may be passing through a fake website;
    • The use of domain name is very similar to the original domain name.
  • Whenever you finish accessing BOCNET, please click the "Exit" button in the upper right corner of the page, and then close the browser to end the use.
  • Do not leave the computer before exiting the internet banking service.
  • Please set the password for the computer you use to prevent others from stealing your data.
  • If you experience difficulties or find a suspicious situation, please contact the nearest branch.

Ensuring The Computer Security

  • Install a firewall to prevent unauthorized access to the computer you are using, especially when you are connected via broadband or modem.
  • Always update your operating system and browser regularly.
  • Install and update personal firewall software and anti-virus software in time to avoid being invaded by computer viruses and malicious programs.
  • Every time you finish operating internet banking, please clear the cache and history in your browser, especially when you are using a public computer, so that you can ensure that your account information will not be left in the computer.
  • Do not open any email from unclear sources or log in to internet banking via the email link.
  • Use the latest Microsoft Internet Explorer or a browser version that supports 128 encryption technology. If you use Internet Explorer, it is recommended that you turn off the "Auto-Complete" function to prevent the card number and password from being stored.

Protecting Your Computer

  • Open your Internet Explorer and click Tools > Internet Options > Content
  • In “Personal Information” column, click “Auto Complete“
  • Remove the check mark on “Username and Password”, then click “Confirm”
