Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited Cabang Jakarta (hereinafter referred to as the “Bank”), formerly known as Bank of China Cabang Jakarta, has been operating commercially since 1938. Bank ceased its operations in 1964, and resumed in 2003 based on Bank Indonesia Governor Decree No. 5/1/KEP. GBI/2003 dated January 13, 2003. 

In 2004, Bank changed its name from Bank of China Cabang Jakarta to Bank of China Limited Cabang Jakarta after obtaining approval from Bank Indonesia. Since then, the Bank has continuously expanded its business by opening sub-branches in various regions across Indonesia. 

The first sub-branch office was opened in Surabaya in 2008, followed by the opening of the second sub-branch office in Mangga Dua, Jakarta in 2009. In the following year, the Bank continued to expand its presence in Jakarta by opening its third sub branch office in The East, Jakarta, the fourth sub-branch office in CBD Pluit, Jakarta, and the fifth sub-branch office in Kelapa Gading, Jakarta.

In 2011, the Bank opened its sixth sub-branch office in Melawai, Jakarta. In 2013, the Bank expanded its operations outside of Java island by opening the seventh sub-branch office in Medan, North Sumatra. Then, in 2017, the eighth sub-branch office was opened in Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta. In the same year, the Bank’s head office, which was previously Bank of China Limited, changed to Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited in 2017. 

In 2020, the Bank relocated one of its sub-branch offices from Melawai to Central Park at Jl. Letjen S.Parman Kav. 28, Ruko Garden Shopping Arcade C/09AA, Central Park. Furthermore, in 2023, the Bank relocated the Kelapa Gading sub branch office to a new location at Ruko Italian Walk Kelapa Gading Square, North Jakarta.

Currently, Bank has 1 (one) operational main office and 8 (eight) sub-branch offices serving customers.
